INTERGENERATIONAL CLASSROOM

Our Initiative

The Intergenerational Classroom brings together older adults and undergraduate students for a semester of shared learning and exploration in aging, gerontology, and geriatrics.

Our Mission

By rewriting the age-bound social narrative of what it means to be a student, the Intergenerational Classroom aims to foster collaboration, knowledge exchange, mentorship, and friendship across generations.

In the Media

In response to our innovative and inclusive approach to learning, numerous media stories have captured moments and experiences from the Intergenerational Classroom.

Classroom Experiences

“I developed a much stronger understanding of the challenges faced by Canada’s rapidly aging population and the importance of preventative care. The intergenerational format was an excellent way to hear firsthand the perspectives of individuals who have faced some of these barriers."
